Assam Govt Pushes Farmer Registration and Horticulture Expansion

Guwahati: Agriculture Minister Pijush Hazarika reviewed the functioning of the Agriculture Department and directed officials to increase farmer registrations under PM-KISAN and PM Fasal Bima Yojana.

The minister announced a target to distribute 15 lakh horticulture saplings to around 5 lakh farmers and stressed the importance of horticulture in boosting farmers’ income. He also warned seed vendors against selling substandard seeds, stating that violators would face blacklisting and legal action.
