Concerns Grow Over Illegal Mining Near Kaziranga

Concerns are growing over alleged illegal quarrying and mining activities in Karbi Anglong’s Dolamara and Northern Ranges near Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve.

Local groups and residents have alleged hill cutting, stone quarrying and riverbed mining despite existing government directives and court orders. Reports also claim that hundreds of truckloads of extracted materials are being transported daily from the restricted areas.
