Concerns Mount Over Proliferation of E-Rickshaws in City Streets

The rapid increase in the number of e-rickshaws, while serving as a useful mode of transport in narrow lanes and remote areas, has raised significant concerns for pedestrians and drivers alike. Lack of technical or driving tests for operators and their tendency to engage in risky road behavior have led to accidents and injuries. These vehicles frequently congest vital roads, exacerbating traffic issues at key city locations. Despite being designed for 2-4 passengers, e-rickshaws often carry more, posing hazards not only for occupants but also for other road users.
