Concerns Raised Over Spurious Drugs in Assam

Guwahati: The Kamrup Medicine Dealers’ Association has raised concerns over the alleged circulation of counterfeit, adulterated and substandard medicines in Assam. The association claimed that some licensed dealers are involved in suspicious billing and sourcing medicines from unauthorised or unverified channels.

The association has urged the State Drug Controller to take prompt action against suspected dealers. It also warned that intense price competition and heavy discounts could increase the risk of spurious medicines entering the market, posing a serious threat to public health.
