Congress Demands SIT Probe into Alleged Garukhuti Project Scam

Congress leaders staged a protest in Dispur, alleging massive corruption in the Garukhuti agricultural project. They demanded a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe and the resignation of ministers and officials involved. Protesters claimed tenders were bypassed, funds misused, and subsidies diverted to political associates. They also alleged the Chief Minister’s wife received ₹10 crore. The project faces criticism after 90 of 300 Gir cows reportedly died.
