Congress Protests Alleged Irregularities in Assam Voter Lists

The Congress on Tuesday staged a protest in Dispur, accusing the BJP and the Election Commission of manipulating Assam’s draft electoral rolls ahead of the Assembly elections. Party leaders alleged large-scale anomalies, including inclusion of unknown names and deletion of genuine voters.

Congress leaders demanded a probe into the revision process and warned that such practices threaten free and fair elections. They said the party would continue its agitation and closely monitor the final voter list.
