Congress Protests in Dispur, Targets CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Over Assets and Controversial Video

The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee on Tuesday staged a protest in Dispur, accusing Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma of lacking transparency over his alleged assets. Congress leaders questioned claims that the CM owns large tracts of land and demanded clarification on how his wealth grew after entering politics.

Protesters also criticised the BJP government’s welfare schemes, alleging they have failed to ease public hardship. The Congress further condemned a controversial video allegedly shared by a BJP-linked social media handle and termed it dangerous and undemocratic. The party later filed a police complaint against the BJP over the circulation of the video.
