Congress Questions ECI Over ECINET Software Transparency

New Delhi: The Congress has accused the Election Commission of India (ECI) of withholding details about its ECINET software used during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh raised concerns over alleged voter list manipulation and questioned the use of artificial intelligence.

The party demanded the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and immediate suspension of the SIR exercise. Meanwhile, the ECI maintained that its decisions follow established legal procedures and reportedly cited commercial confidentiality provisions for withholding software details.
