Congress Seeks Transfer of Nagaon SP Ahead of Samaguri By-Polls

The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) filed a complaint with the Election Commission of India (ECI), alleging law and order issues in the Samaguri constituency ahead of by-polls. The APCC, led by President Bhupen Kumar Borah, accused Nagaon district officials of bias and requested the transfer of Nagaon SP Swapnaneel Deka, citing attacks on Congress candidate Tanzil Hussain and party workers. Despite claims of inaction by police, SP Deka stated that arrests have been made and the government will decide on his transfer. The ECI has yet to respond.
