Congress Slams NDA Over Renaming of MGNREGA

The Congress on Sunday criticised the Modi-led NDA government over renaming MGNREGA as VBG–Ramji, calling it an attempt to erase Congress legacy and weaken the employment guarantee scheme.

Addressing a press meet in Guwahati, Ragini Nayak alleged that the BJP routinely renames Congress-era schemes to project them as its own and accused it of removing Mahatma Gandhi’s name out of political spite.

She claimed the government was not only renaming MGNREGA but also undermining its implementation under Narendra Modi.
