Congress Steps Up Grassroots Outreach in Cachar Ahead of 2026 Assam Polls

The Congress has intensified its grassroots campaign in Cachar district under the “Raijor Podulit, Raijor Congress” programme ahead of the 2026 Assam Assembly elections. Senior MP Pradyut Bordoloi said the initiative aims to reconnect with people and assess ground realities across the state.

The outreach is being conducted by five teams led by senior leaders, including Gaurav Gogoi, Debabrata Saikia, Rakibul Hussain and Ripun Borah, covering all 35 districts. Bordoloi said public feedback is being documented digitally for a people’s manifesto, stressing the programme is purely to listen to citizens’ concerns and not linked to ticket distribution. He also said the party is preparing a charge sheet against the BJP over alleged governance failures.
