Congress to Release People’s Manifesto Based on Statewide Consultations in Assam

The Indian National Congress announced it will release a people’s manifesto for the upcoming Assam Assembly elections, prepared through consultations across all 35 districts. Addressing a press meet in Chirang, Assam Leader of Opposition Debabrata Saikia said the manifesto reflects a serious commitment, not an election gimmick.
Saikia said the party has invited public inputs via QR codes, suggestion boxes, and a website titled Notun Asom. The outreach programme, Raijor Padulit Raijor Congress, aims to engage communities on issues such as land pattas and welfare schemes. He added that Congress is open to alliances with regional parties and will continue raising public issues while in opposition.
