Coroner’s Inquiry into Zubeen Garg’s Death to Begin in Singapore on Jan 14

A coroner’s inquiry into the death of Assam’s cultural icon Zubeen Garg will open in Singapore on January 14, according to Channel News Asia. The inquest will be held at the State Courts after police submitted their findings to the state coroner.
Singapore police have reiterated that there is no suspicion of foul play so far. Garg died on September 19 in Singapore, a day before his scheduled performance at the North East India Festival.
Meanwhile, legal scrutiny continues in Assam, where petitioners have raised concerns over the investigation. A Special Investigation Team has already filed a charge sheet, with the next hearing scheduled for January 3.
