CPI(M) Protests Unsafe Flyover Construction in Guwahati

The Communist Party of India (Marxist) organized a human chain protest in Bamunimaidam, Guwahati, on Wednesday to voice dissatisfaction with the ongoing flyover construction from Dighalipukhuri to Noonmati. The CPI(M) highlighted several issues, primarily the lack of safety measures at the construction site, including the absence of barricades, which forces the public to navigate through open pits and damaged roads. The construction has also caused severe dust and sand pollution, artificial floods, and significant inconvenience to residents. Commercial activities have suffered, prompting demands for compensation for affected businesses. The CPI(M) emphasized the need for development to proceed without compromising public safety and well-being.
