Crackdown on Money Lenders: Sootea Police Apprehend Culprit

Sootea police, acting decisively against money lenders, successfully apprehended Fakir Ali, a notorious lender from Koroiani, Sootea’s southern region. This arrest marks the third in a series of actions against such lenders, aimed at curbing exploitation and preventing tragic outcomes such as suicides among poor borrowers. Shyamal Jyoti Saikia, officer in-charge of Sootea PS, highlighted the positive response from the community, acknowledging the timely intervention by Biswanath and Sootea police in addressing this issue.
