Cybercrime Racket Busted in Tinsukia, 8 Arrested

Tinsukia Police led by ASP Mrinmoy Das and OC Paragjyoti Buragohain busted a cybercrime racket on Friday after a month-long trail, arresting eight individuals, including a woman and the mastermind.

Police recovered 136 ATM cards, 20 SIMs, 17 mobile phones, laptops, 68 bank accounts, and 66 cheque books from an under-construction building in Tamulbari, Tinsukia. The accused facilitated mule accounts for online betting scams with inter-state links. Authorities are investigating possible bank official involvement.
