Darranga Check Post in Assam Designated as Official Immigration Point

The Central Government has designated the Darranga land check post in Assam’s Tamulpur district as an official immigration point. This move will allow entry and exit for all passengers with valid travel documents, as per the Passport (Entry into India) Rules, 1950.

Effective from November 1, 2024, the Chief Immigration Officer, Bureau of Immigration, has been appointed as the Civil Authority at the post. The decision aims to enhance security, regulate immigration, and improve infrastructure at key transit points.
