Daylight Robbery in Guwahati’s Paltan Bazar, Assailants Flee After Firing Shots

A daylight robbery occurred near Vishwaratna Hotel in Guwahati’s Paltan Bazar on September 20. Armed robbers stole cash and a mobile phone from Iayaz Ali but failed to take his e-rickshaw. The assailants fired shots before fleeing, though no injuries were reported. Ali filed a complaint with Panbazar police.

In a related incident, three robbers stole ₹40,200 from an HP pump employee in Dhubri. Police arrested the culprits based on CCTV footage and are investigating.
