Deadly Blast Near Delhi’s Red Fort Kills 8, Terror Angle Not Ruled Out

A powerful explosion near Red Fort on Monday evening killed eight people and injured several others, triggering chaos in central Delhi. The blast occurred around 6:50 p.m. when a car exploded at a traffic signal near the Red Fort Metro Station, igniting nearby vehicles.

Police have invoked the UAPA and Explosives Act, indicating possible terror links. Forensic teams are analysing debris, and CCTV footage is being reviewed to trace suspects.

Security has been tightened nationwide, with alerts issued in Mumbai, UP, Haryana, and Punjab. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah expressed condolences and assured a thorough probe.
