Dhubri Congress Expels 29 Workers for Anti-Party Activities

The Dhubri District Congress Committee (DDCC) has expelled 29 party workers for six years over alleged anti-party activities during the 2026 Assam Assembly elections. The decision, announced by district president Asma Begum, takes immediate effect and cancels their primary membership.

The action follows an internal review that found their conduct against party interests. The move reflects a strict stance on indiscipline as the party restructures post-elections.

Earlier, 11 members were also expelled on similar charges. Polling was held on April 9, with results set for May 4.
