Dhubri Jail Superintendent Accused of Molestation

Dhubri District Jail Superintendent Prasanta Rajbongshi was detained after a female jail warder accused him of molestation during Diwali celebrations. The victim also named two others, Krishna Barman and Mazzifur Rahman, in the complaint.

A case has been filed under Dhubri PS Case No. 453/2024, invoking sections 75(2), 76/79 BNS. Rajbongshi was interrogated and released on Sunday evening, sparking public outrage over potential accountability issues.

The victim has appealed for justice and security from Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma. The investigation remains ongoing.
