Dhubri Medical College Employee Arrested for Ayushman Bharat Fraud

A Dhubri Medical College employee, Habibul Hasan Alom, was arrested for allegedly misusing the Ayushman Bharat scheme. Alom, a 4th-grade worker, is accused of collecting payments from non-beneficiaries by falsifying patient records and misusing Ayushman Bharat card numbers.

Authorities estimate Alom pocketed around ₹70,000 last month. The scam surfaced after the hospital filed a complaint, triggering an investigation into potential corruption within the scheme. The probe is ongoing to uncover further involvement.
