Dhubri Scam Busted: Fraudulent Scheme Exploiting Women Exposed
Police in Dhubri uncovered a scam targeting underprivileged women through a fake “Support India Development Programme.” The scheme, active since January, lured over 3,000 women into buying household items and recruiting others with false promises of financial gains.
The prime accused, Akram Hussain Laskar, was arrested in West Bengal. Police seized over ₹2 lakh in cash and are searching for co-accused Rashidul Rahman. Victims have demanded justice, and authorities warned against similar fraudulent schemes.
