Dr Bhupen Hazarika National Awards to Be Presented in Guwahati on Nov 3

The Dr Bhupen Hazarika National Award Ceremony, part of his birth centenary celebrations, will be held in Guwahati on November 3. Union DoNER Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia will present the awards, which honour distinguished achievers from the Northeast. This year’s recipients include Laishram Mema Devi, L.R. Sailo, Yeshe Dorje Thongchi, Prof. David R. Syiemlieh, Dr Surjya Kanta Hazarika, and Rajni Basumatary. Each award carries ₹51,000, a citation, and a memento. New centenary initiatives will also be launched.
