DTO Kamrup Hosts Road Safety Awareness Event in Guwahati

The District Transport Office, Kamrup (Metro), held a special road safety awareness programme at Lokhra, Guwahati, during the 30th Foundation Day of Karbi Bangthe Asem. Officer Gautam Das urged citizens to follow traffic rules and praised the Karbi community’s cultural role.

The event featured tributes to Dr Bhupen Hazarika and Zubeen Garg, highlighting their influence on road safety awareness. A drama presented by the Transport Department depicted the impact of road accidents, delivering key safety messages like wearing helmets, using seat belts, and avoiding drunk or distracted driving. Musical tributes by local artists added cultural depth to the programme.
