Early Morning Fire Destroys Shops in Diphu Market

A massive fire broke out at Diphu market around 5:30 am on Tuesday, gutting three shops and partially damaging two others. The blaze reportedly started in a hardware store due to an electrical short circuit and quickly spread to nearby bakeries and a variety store. Locals alerted the fire station, but response was delayed. Losses are estimated at several crores, with the hardware store’s warehouse completely destroyed. Authorities confirmed the fire was not linked to Diwali firecrackers but to faulty wiring.
