ECI Reviews Assam Poll Preparedness, Bans Exit Polls

The Election Commission of India reviewed election preparations in Assam and trained key officials ahead of the April 9 Assembly polls. It banned exit polls from April 9 to April 29 and restricted opinion poll display during the 48-hour silence period.

The Commission also directed timely distribution of voter slips, including Braille versions, and stressed safety measures for riverine polling stations to ensure smooth and secure elections.
