Elusive Poacher Arrested in Guwahati by West Bengal Police

After a five-year pursuit, West Bengal Police successfully apprehended a notorious poacher in Guwahati. Risak Narjinari, wanted for poaching rhino horns and elephant tusks across India, was captured in a joint operation with the forest department. Geetanagar Police in Guwahati assisted in the operation. Narjinari, a resident of Falakata in West Bengal, had been evading arrest since a 2019 complaint was filed against him. Tracked to Ambikagiri Nagar, Guwahati, he awaits transport to West Bengal for legal processing. This arrest marks a significant victory in combating wildlife crime.
