Empowering Water Engineers: Insights from Assam’s Jal Jeevan Mission Conference
The three-day conference of Assistant Executive Engineers of Public Health Engineering at the Tinsukia Convention Centre concluded, focusing on the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) and challenges in water supply scheme implementation. Over 130 engineers from various circles participated, discussing topics such as time management, climate change’s impact on water supply, media and stress management. Special initiatives like Gyan Pragya engaged participants, exploring source sustainability, technology, community engagement, and more. Assam’s strides in providing Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTC) were highlighted, with 78.06% rural households already served. The state’s Jal Jeevan Mission emphasized community involvement and partnerships to ensure sustainable water supply schemes.
