Engineer Assaulted Over Inspection Report in Sivasagar

Dipankar Dutta, a Field Inspection Engineer from Intertek India Pvt. Ltd., was allegedly assaulted by contractor Bibhuti Phukan at the Executive Engineer, PHE, Sivasagar Division office. The dispute arose over an inspection report on the Chetia Gaon PWSS project, which reflected incomplete work and a lower financial valuation.

Dutta reportedly faced threats before the attack for refusing to certify the full sanctioned amount. Intertek India Pvt. Ltd. has urged authorities to investigate the incident and take strict action to ensure a safe work environment.
