Eviction Notices Issued in Cheragi Reserved Forest, Barak Valley

The Forest Department has served 30-day eviction notices to residents of Cheragi Reserved Forest in Sribhumi, terming them illegal settlers. Authorities warned of forceful removal if they fail to vacate. This is the first eviction notice in Barak Valley amid state-wide drives. CM Himanta Biswa Sarma recently highlighted major encroachments in Sribhumi and Hailakandi.
