EVM–VVPAT Checking Begins in Kamrup Metro Ahead of Assam Polls

First-level checking of EVMs and VVPATs in Kamrup Metropolitan district will begin on February 16 and continue till February 18 ahead of the Assam Assembly elections. The verification is being conducted at the Basistha Lalmatia warehouse under strict supervision and transparency.

The process coincides with a three-day visit of the Election Commission of India to Assam to review poll preparedness. Representatives of political parties are present during the checks, which are also being webcast.
