Farmer Killed by Wild Elephants Near Laokhuwa Wildlife Sanctuary

Jitendra Mandal, a resident of Ambagan Tubuki Jaroni village near Laokhuwa Wildlife Sanctuary, was killed by a herd of wild elephants early Thursday morning. The elephants, searching for food, entered Mandal’s agricultural farm from the sanctuary. Mandal encountered the herd while working on his farm and was fatally attacked. Forest personnel and local police arrived promptly to recover his body, which was sent to Nagaon BP Civil Hospital for an autopsy. This incident highlights the ongoing human-wildlife conflict in the region.
