Farmer Kills Wife Over Alleged Infidelity Near Assam-Mizoram Border

A 40-year-old farmer, Khalil Uddin Barbhuiya, allegedly murdered his wife Hassan Begum near the Assam-Mizoram border in Hailakandi. The killing occurred in a farm hut in Mizoram’s Kolasib district after she reportedly eloped with her lover. Police recovered the body on Saturday. Khalil is absconding, and authorities are searching for him. Local leaders are working to prevent communal tension in the sensitive border area.
