“Fehujali” to be Featured at Mumbai International Film Festival
The acclaimed short documentary “Fehujali” will be showcased at the Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF) on June 21, 2024. This festival, the oldest and largest in South Asia for short films, documentaries, and animations, runs from June 15 to June 21, 2024.
“Fehujali” previously won Best Short Documentary at the 7th New Delhi Film Festival on March 28, 2024. Produced by the Director General of Police, Assam, and directed by Dr. Parthasarathi Mahanta, IPS, the film includes English subtitles by Dr. Jovial Kalita.
The documentary highlights the struggles of marginalized youths in Assam who were misled into joining extremist factions. It aims to deter young people from falling for such propaganda by sharing true stories of disillusionment and hardship. The film has been praised for its powerful narrative and important message.
