Ferry Services Suspended in Kamrup District Following Cyclone Remal Damage
In response to extensive damage caused by Cyclone Remal, the Kamrup District Administration has suspended Guwahati-North Guwahati ferry services for May 29, 2024, due to the rising Brahmaputra River water levels. The cyclone damaged bamboo and wood ramps above the river, necessitating the construction of new ramps. Ferry services had already been suspended on May 27 and 28, 2024. Similar suspensions have occurred in several other districts due to rising water levels.
