First-Level EVM and VVPAT Checking Completed in 34 Assam Districts

First-level checking of EVMs and VVPATs has been completed in 34 districts from December 11 to January 9 under Election Commission guidelines, with political party representatives present. Over 43,000 ballot units, 36,000 control units, and 45,000 VVPATs were found fit for use. Checking in Tamulpur will conclude by February 18, with supplementary checks planned due to shortages. Officials said the State will be ready for the April Assembly elections after completion.
