Forester killed by ‘timber smugglers’ and three hurt in Assam

A forester was killed by suspected timber smugglers and three of his colleagues were injured in Assam’s Goalpara district late on Monday, police said.

Rajbir Ahmed and the others were carrying out an anti-smuggling operation in the Boro Matia reserve forest when they were attacked with sticks and other sharp weapons, police said.
