Former Handloom Director Kabita Deka Found Dead Under Mysterious Circumstances

Kabita Deka, former Director of the Handloom and Textile Department, was found dead at her Jalukbari residence on Thursday. Police are investigating the cause, and her body has been sent for post-mortem.

Deka was under investigation by the CM’s Special Vigilance Cell for alleged corruption in the department’s recruitment process. A raid was conducted at her residence last month in connection with the case.
