STF Assam Arrests Key ABT Operative in Chennai

In a major breakthrough under Operation Praghat, STF Assam arrested Abu Salam Ali, a key operative of the Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT), in Chennai. The operation, conducted with Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu police, marks the 15th arrest in the crackdown on extremist networks.

Ali, originally from Dhubri, is also linked to Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen and was involved in planning attacks. He had been evading arrest since December 2024. His capture follows the recent arrest of another extremist, Nasim Uddin SK, on February 4.
