Four Illegal Saw Mills Seized in Joint Forest Department Raid on Assam-Nagaland Border

Acting on a tip-off, a team from the Sivasagar Forest Department, led by ACF Bubul Baruah, and the Sonari Regional Forest Department raided four illegal saw mills operating in the Rohdoi Ali and Gosikola areas on the Assam-Nagaland border. The operation, conducted on Saturday, resulted in the seizure of four saw mills. Bihubor Block Regional Forest Officer Karuna Konwar and Sonari Regional Forest Department Ranger Spriha Gogoi participated in the raid. The seized machines were taken to the respective regional forest offices, with three going to Bihubor and one to Sonari. The forest department has filed cases under the Forest Act against the owners of the seized mills.
