French Ambassador Reviews Conservation Efforts at Nameri Tiger Reserve

French Ambassador to India Thierry Mathou visited Nameri National Park and Tiger Reserve to review progress under the Assam Project on Forest and Biodiversity Conservation (APFBC) Phase-II, supported by the French Development Agency (AFD). He interacted with forest officials and community eco-development groups, and received updates on habitat restoration, wetland revival, eco-tourism initiatives, and conservation of the white-winged wood duck. The envoy also took a safari and visited the community-run Nameri Eco-Camp, appreciating local involvement in conservation and tourism.
