Fuel Supply to Meghalaya Suspended from Numaligarh Amid Tensions

NUMALIGARH: The Numaligarh unit of the North East Petroleum Mazdoor Union has suspended the movement of Meghalaya-registered fuel-carrying vehicles amid the recent tense situation in the neighbouring state.
The union said tankers carrying petrol, diesel and LPG would not travel from Assam to Meghalaya, raising concerns over a possible disruption in fuel supplies. The decision was reportedly taken following allegations of attacks on Assamese drivers and tourists in Meghalaya.
