Gas Leak at ONGC Well in Assam Prompts Evacuation, Emergency Response

A gas leak at ONGC’s well RDS#147A in Sivasagar’s Rudrasagar field triggered evacuation of 70 families. ONGC has launched a well-killing operation and restricted site access. No injuries or fire reported. Relief camps with essentials have been set up. The leak occurred during routine servicing of an old non-producing well. An investigation is underway.
