Gauhati High Court Rejects Pawan Khera’s Anticipatory Bail Plea

The Gauhati High Court on Friday rejected Congress leader Pawan Khera’s anticipatory bail plea in a case filed on the complaint of Himanta Biswa Sarma’s wife, Riniki Bhuyan Sarma.

The case was registered by Assam Police over allegations made by Khera regarding the Chief Minister’s wife’s business dealings. Earlier, the Supreme Court had refused transit bail and directed Khera to approach a competent court in Assam.

Khera had earlier received interim protection from the Telangana High Court, which was later stayed by the Supreme Court.
