ACMS Protests Over Green Tea Leaf Theft in Tinsukia

The Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangha (ACMS) has raised concern over alleged large-scale theft of green tea leaves at Dhelakhat Tea Estate in Tinsukia district.

Tea garden workers staged a three-hour protest outside Barekuri Police Station on Friday, demanding strict action against those involved in illegal plucking and theft.

ACMS leaders said such activities are causing heavy losses to tea estates and creating unrest in garden areas. The union urged authorities to strengthen surveillance and warned of further democratic protests if the issue is not addressed.
