Gauhati University to Launch Integrated M.Tech Programmes from 2026

Gauhati University has received AICTE approval to introduce two five-year Integrated M.Tech programmes in Computer Science and Engineering and Information Technology from the 2026–27 academic session.

The courses will be offered by the Department of Information Technology with an intake of 40 students each, including foreign students. Students will receive a B.Tech degree after four years and an M.Tech degree after the fifth year without any additional entrance exam.

The programmes will also offer Honours in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Data Science. Admissions will be based on JEE and Assam CEE scores.
