Gaurav Gogoi Alleges Government Failing to Protect Assam-Nagaland Border

Mariani: Assam Congress president Gaurav Gogoi on Tuesday accused the state government of failing to protect Assam’s territorial interests and the rights of people living along the Assam-Nagaland border during a visit to Nagajan village in Mariani.

Gogoi alleged that border residents were facing land encroachment, restrictions on development works, including MGNREGA projects, and growing insecurity. He criticised the Himanta Biswa Sarma-led government for not taking adequate steps to safeguard Assam’s land and the interests of border communities.
