Injured Royal Bengal Tiger Shifted to Assam State Zoo for Long-Term Care

Kaziranga: An aged Royal Bengal tiger rescued from the Agaratoli range of Kaziranga National Park has been shifted to the Assam State Zoo-cum-Botanical Garden in Guwahati for long-term care after receiving treatment at the Centre for Wildlife Rehabilitation and Conservation (CWRC).

The tiger, captured on June 8 after repeated livestock attacks in nearby villages, was found to be weak, injured and suffering from age-related health issues, including damaged teeth. Forest officials said the animal could no longer hunt effectively in the wild and will now remain under veterinary care at the zoo in accordance with National Tiger Conservation Authority guidelines.
