Gaurav Gogoi Alleges Ongoing Illegal Coal Syndicate in Assam

Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi accused top Assam officials of shielding an illegal coal syndicate. Citing ED findings, he claimed coal is smuggled from Meghalaya into Assam, collecting ₹1.5 lakh per truck. He questioned Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s silence and demanded accountability, alleging police inaction and political protection. Gogoi also linked Sarbananda Sonowal’s removal as CM to his crackdown on the syndicate.
